I've been working on a personal thing this past week, leading to many times where I went to bed at 5AM.. sitting at the computer. Sigh.
My wife quoted: 'Computer says no.'
Just now she said I spend too much time on my computer and reminded of the fact that I told her this exact thing, and that I should go to bed at a normal hour.
It's actually all quite depressing. I love computers. I also hate them.
This weekend, swimming pool and sun tanning as we catch the last heatwave we can see for the summer holidays.

Last week we went on a little holiday to the seaside. Mostly just driving and then being lazy by the beach, and the balcony of our hotel that faced the sun. We also visited Hel, the Peninsula in Poland. Fantastic. I think sometimes it's super easy to forget what you have right on your doorstep. I really love Poland. I'm from England, and I never want to go back if I'm honest. On the way we stayed in Olsztyn. Around a 6 hour drive from us, but didn't want to push the 8 hours.
What a beautiful place. Really fell in love! Unsure if we will explore this love more, but my, wow. Every fibre in my body just came out screaming in love. They also had a lovely little airport there, gliders above us as they launched, and I bought a new Hawaiian shirt there. I don't have pictures. It's just a feeling. Everything felt fantastic. Even the "commercial" hotel — they had a nice little gym there that I used and the restaurant was nice — I got a burger with nice beef. Good enough for me. We arrived in the evening so it was quiet. The morning was also quiet as we left.
Family time is precious. I want to do more like this, even if a pre-teenager is a handful (who does everything against you).
Before we left, I set up my machine so I can remote into it from my phone. I don't have a laptop and thought this might be a bit of a sore spot in general. I don't really like keeping my customers hanging. Thankfully it all worked well, even a minor few things. I just used my phone to work on a few minor things and features. What a great feeling to be free from having to sit at the computer. I think I spent a few hours just on a few fixes here and there — which I think is good, because I just like doing this kind of stuff whilst the ladies are busy doing their lady things.
Whilst holidays are great, and that having kids are "trying", it's always great perspective what life is about.
Recently the weird part of the internet (or whatever you call that side these days) again blew up because of a person I'll call "Alfrid" — that's how'll associate these people (if you know The Hobbit, you know).
This holiday really brought it into perspective for me. These people have zero matter in my life anymore. I am so thankful. Maybe 3 years ago this meant something to me, but not anymore. It has zero effect. So, thank you Alfrid.
Being online, in a sense, is not life — it is not defining. You are what you are to your family and people closest to you. There is no sense in to appeasing 99.999988% of the planet. Never.
I'm really happy with everything that has happened over the past years. You have no idea. I find comfort in it, and humanity.
I'm doing good, life is fantastic now. Thank you all that support me through my projects — that's the 0.000000012% (even if it feels small, it's not). And my family, who have stuck with me all these years since I've been born. They know me best. They support me through everything. Family is what matters the most, even if sometimes things are weird.
I hope to do more holidays soon, even with school starting again for the kiddo soon.
With holidays I love to always think about where I am and where I'm going. I'm doing a lot of offline things that are just for me — my wife approves. That's all that matters.
I'm doing good. Life is good.
Peace and love.

Today I logged off.
It just happened. Body screaming.
Logged out. For good?
Reasons. Plenty.
Mind, body. Spirit. Important.
Projects aplenty, keeping busy. Growing. Happy.
Body building. Hard work. Loving it. More.
Family. Always.
Pivoting. Uncertainty, excitement. Physical.
Outside. Plenty.

Wake up early.
Avoid distractions.
Work three to five hours a day and then enjoy the rest of the day.
Be as perfectionist as you can, knowing that imperfection will still rule.
Have the confidence to be magical and stretch the boundaries of your medium.
Combine the tools of the medium itself with the message you want to convey.
Don’t get stuck in the same rut – move forward, experiment, but with the confidence built up over experience.
I've had this noted down since 2012. Not my own, but certainly living it now.

I've been wondering about my desk lately, and its purpose. There has also been a fundamental shift for myself on how I think about computers too — what even is a computer these days?
Do I have to always sit at my desk? Why does the desk dominate the room with a screen on it, always visible?
Should I get a smaller desk? Maybe I can sit on a cushion on the floor where my desk sits now. Perhaps a standing desk, because I don't like being stationary for too long. But no, that is also a desk.
Creativity doesn't always strike at my desk either — in fact it is quite the opposite too many times.
I do need a desk though. I don't have a laptop, so I am stuck with a big screen — perhaps that's changing soon. Who knows.
So, now I am planning. Do I need a desk?
Work can happen anywhere — at the old (the one I am sitting at now) desk, the dining table, kitchen counter, my bed, a coffee shop like good old times.
No desk also means less emphasis on technology sitting there, waiting to be used. Calling out — "hey, I am here, look at me with my dark screen" — waiting.
I am planning on no desk. That's my aim.
Intentional.

Today I turn 40.
I'm the healthiest, fittest and happiest I have ever been in my life.
I've been married for 15 years, have an amazing, and hot, wife and a beautiful daughter. I couldn't ask for more!
I have a handful of very good friends and it's more I could ever ask for.
My life is just beginning!
✌️❤️
